66-DAY JOURNEY OF THE BIBLE
Day 37 - Zechariah
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey. (Zechariah 9:9)
The above prophecy from the book of Zechariah is just one of 365 prophecies in the Old Testament that Jesus fulfilled (see link at the end of this blog to see all 365 prophecies). Anyone who says that Jesus Christ is not the Messiah is either simply ignorant or in denial.
To prove that Jesus is indeed the Son of God, let us examine the probability of one person fulfilling all 365 prophecies. To grasp the magnitude of this proposition, we will only illustrate the probability of one person fulfilling only eight defferent prophecies. Mathematicians have conservatively estimated that the chance of one man fulfilling all eight prophecies was one in 10^17 (a fuigure with 17 zeros), Stoner(Peter Stoner, Science Speaks, Chicago: Moody Press, 1969, 4) gave this illustration :
Suppose that we take 10^17 silver dollars and lay them on the face of Texas. They'll cover all of the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly, all over the state. Blindfold a man and tell him that he can travel as far as he wishes, but he must pick up one silver dollar and say that this is the right one. What chance would he have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would've had of writing these eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man, from their day to the present time, providing they wrote them in their own wisdom.
Have you bowed your knees yet to Jesus Christ as your God? I pray you do so right now. Everyone will bow their knees to Jesus Christ eventually; the wise do so while they yet live and fools will do so against their will when Christ returns to judge the wicked.
